What Can A Smart Watch Do For You?
From running apps, to displaying smartphone notifications, to monitoring your heart rate, to guiding your directions with GPS, to monitoring your running distance, the latest crop of smartwatches do a lot more than just tell time. But which one should you buy? As you probably know, all Smart Watches are not created equal. We've compiled a group of the top-rated smartwatches to help you decide.
Device Compatibility
The first thing you should consider when buying a smartwatch is compatibility. Many of the devices currently on the market use Android Wear, an operating system designed for wearables. The latest Android Wear update adds support for iOS (the Apple Operating System), but these are still Android type devices. The Apple Watch, as you might expect, connects strictly to iOS devices, so it's compatible only with the iPhone. Other watches, like the Pebble products, work with both Android and iOS. Make sure you pick a watch that's compatible with the mobile device you own.

UPDATE
Samsung's latest smartwatches have abandoned the Android Wear OS in favor of the company's own Tizen OS, which appears to be a good choice. This gives the Samsung Gear S products a user friendly interface that's much easier to use than the Android Wear OS.
